No response survives under this number. It is absent from both surviving copies of the transcript, and it was already absent from the editor’s 1999–2000 export — the loss is older than any web edition. Nothing that stood here can be recovered, and nothing has been reconstructed to fill the space.

The responses around it survive: 8:237 is dated 28-AUG-1998, and 8:240 is dated 31-AUG-1998. Whatever was posted as 8:238 was posted sometime between those two dates — that bracket is all that can honestly be said of it.
